Here are some screenshots of a game environment, using assets in Unreal Engine’s free Infinity Blade packs. In this game, the player plays as a fox navigating an island with ruins and abandoned houses, and must explore the environment to try piece together what happened. I created interactivity and ambiguous moments, implying that ghosts inhabit the island and the existence of a great tragedy, as well as a lone survivor living in the woods after crashing on the shore.
This project was the most engaging for me to complete of all my projects, as it allowed for me to consider how players interact with a world and the conclusions that they might jump to. It allowed me to experiment with using games as a storytelling medium and using a limited resource of assets and combining them into something new. Furthermore, it developed my ability to conduct playtests, create blueprints in Unreal Engine 5, as well as lighting and effects in a real-time environment.
